Effective 29 September 2026

StatTable records basketball games for a team. You sign in with an email and password, games you record sync to our database so your team sees them everywhere, and every game has a link anyone can use to follow it. This page says exactly what that involves, who can see what, and how to have it removed.

Draft. This document has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and the bracketed values below still need to be filled in. Complete and review it before the beta form accepts a submission.

1. Who we are

StatTable is operated by Four Loop (“we”, “us”), in the United States. You can reach us about anything on this page at hello@thestattable.com.

StatTable was called Courtside until 25 September 2026. This version of the policy also catches up with the product: accounts, sync between devices and shareable game links are live, and the earlier version described them as coming later.

2. The short version

  • You need an account to use StatTable: an email address and a password.
  • Games you record are saved on your device first and then synced to our database, so your team sees them on every device and in the team portal. Recording keeps working with the network off and catches up when it comes back.
  • Every game has a link. Anyone who has it can follow that game, including player names, jersey numbers, the play-by-play and the box score, without an account.
  • This website sets cookies only to keep you signed in. There are no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, on the website or in the app.
  • We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
  • Rosters usually include minors. The team that enters a roster is responsible for having the right to, and we store a graduating year rather than a date of birth.

3. Your account

An account is an email address and a password. The password is stored by our authentication provider, Supabase, as a one-way hash; we never see it. Your organization also gives you a display name and a role, which other members of the organization can see.

We set organizations up by hand during the beta. When someone is invited to an organization, we store the email address and name they were invited under until they sign in and accept. An invitation that is not accepted expires after 14 days, and we keep the record of it.

4. What the app stores and sends

On your device. Each play you record (a shot, a rebound, a foul, a substitution) is written first to storage on the phone or tablet, with the game clock, the time it was tapped and which account recorded it. So is the sign-in that keeps you logged in. Signing out deletes the recorded plays from the device. If some have not reached our database yet, the app tries to send them first, and if it cannot, it tells you and asks before deleting them.

To our database. The app sends each recorded play to our database, in small batches, as soon as it has a connection. It also downloads the game’s rosters and any plays recorded on other devices, and keeps an open connection during a game so updates arrive live. Deleting the app removes the copy on that device; the synced record of the game stays with your organization.

The app contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier, and no third-party tracking of any kind. It requests no location, contacts, camera, photo, microphone or notification access. A team logo is shown from wherever the team’s logo is stored, which may be a web address the team supplied.

5. What this website collects

When you sign in to the team portal, the site sets cookies that keep you signed in. They are strictly necessary for the portal to work and are used for nothing else, which is why there is no consent banner. The site runs no analytics, embeds no tracking pixels, and serves its fonts itself rather than loading them from Google or anyone else.

The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs. Those logs include IP addresses and are handled under Vercel’s privacy policy. We do not use them to build a profile of you. Organization logos are served from our database provider’s file storage, and a game page following a live game keeps a connection open to our database provider for updates.

When you ask for an invite on /beta, we store your name, email address, the level you coach, whether you asked for updates, and when you asked. We use it to contact you about the beta, and we send updates only if you ticked that box. If you email us instead, we keep that email so we can reply. Ask us to delete either at any time and we will.

6. Team and player information

StatTable is a tool for recording a team, and the organization enters the information it needs to do that: for each player, a first and last name, a jersey number, a position and a graduating year; for staff, a name and a job such as head coach. We do not ask for dates of birth, photos, phone numbers or addresses, and there is nowhere in StatTable to enter them.

A game keeps the roster as it stood when the game was played, so a later change to a roster does not rewrite an old box score. The record of a game is append-only: a correction is added as a new entry rather than overwriting the original, so the history of what was recorded, and by which account, is kept.

You are responsible for the information you enter. By entering roster or player data you confirm you are authorised to do so, including where a player is a minor, and that you have obtained whatever consent your school, club, league, or local law requires. This is set out in section 5 of the terms.

If you believe information about you or your child is held in StatTable and should not be, contact the coach or team that entered it, since they control it. You can also write to us at hello@thestattable.com and we will help where we are able to.

7. Who can see it

Your organization. Every member of an organization can see everything in it: all of its teams, rosters and games, the names and roles of the other members, and invitations that have not yet been accepted. Roles decide who can change things, not who can see them. An organization has one owner, and its members are admins or members, who may also hold a job on a team: head coach, assistant coach or manager.

Anyone with a game’s link. Every game has its own link, and any member can copy it to share with parents or anyone else. The link shows that game’s team names, every player’s name and jersey number, the date and venue, the play-by-play and the box score, live while the game is being recorded, to anyone who has it, without signing in. The link is long and random, so it cannot be guessed, but it can be forwarded. Links cannot yet be switched off or replaced from within StatTable; until they can, email us and we will take a game’s link down.

Four Loop. Our staff can access any organization’s data. We use that access to set organizations up, to help when you ask us to, and to keep the service running, and for no other purpose.

8. What we share

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

We use a small number of service providers to run the product: Supabase for accounts, the database, live updates and file storage; Vercel for hosting the website; our email provider for sending password-reset emails; and Apple for distributing the iOS app. They process data on our instructions to provide the service, and for nothing else.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of people using StatTable. We would tell you unless we were prohibited from doing so.

9. Keeping and deleting information

We keep an organization’s information for as long as the organization uses StatTable. Nothing expires automatically.

StatTable does not yet let you delete an account or an organization yourself, and a game cannot be deleted from the product once anything has been recorded in it. Until it can, email hello@thestattable.com and we will delete an account, an organization, a game, or a player’s information for you. The same address is for asking what we hold or correcting it.

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to how it is handled. We honour those requests regardless of where you live, and we will not charge you or treat you differently for making one.

10. Children

StatTable is for coaches and the adults who keep a team’s statistics. It is not meant for children to sign up for, and we do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 13. Players, many of whom are minors, appear in StatTable only because their team entered them; see section 6.

11. Security

Traffic to this site, to the app and to our database is encrypted in transit. Access to the database is enforced by the database itself, which checks every request against the organization and role of the account making it, so the app cannot grant itself permission it was not given.

Data on your device is protected by your device. Use a passcode, and keep the operating system current. No system is perfectly secure and we will not claim otherwise.

12. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes we will update the effective date above. If a change materially affects what we collect or who we share it with, we will say so plainly rather than relying on the date alone.

13. Contact

Questions, requests, and complaints all go to hello@thestattable.com. Four Loop, [street address], [city], [state] [postal code], United States.
